The visible team issues are rarely the real problem.

So what’s really going on?

The problems in your team that you can see are often not the things you need to fix, and if you keep putting your energy there, nothing is going to fundamentally change.

We help leaders and teams with the challenges they face, and what they need to do about them by showing them a different way to think about teams altogether – and then working where it matters most.

From changes you can make right now that will have an immediate impact, to what needs your attention for lasting change – we are your people.

“Working with Lead Happy Teams has been one of the most meaningful investments in our people and culture.”

KAREN BARKER – DIRECTOR OF STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT, WARWICK BUSINESS SCHOOL

Does any of this happen in your team?

  • Decisions take longer than they should
  • Conversations are ‘safe’ when they need to be honest
  • Teams operating in siloes
  • Meetings are frequent and busy but not much moves forward
  • Leaders carry too much of the responsibility
  • People focus on their own domain
  • Ownership is confused or inconsistent
  • Communication doesn’t work and nobody knows why

If so, you’re far from alone, and it’s not a communication problem, or a collaboration problem, or even a team under pressure. These are all just the symptoms of what’s really going on underneath.

Questions you may have

  • Who is Lead Happy Teams for?

Lead Happy Teams is for organisations that know a team could be working better and want to do something meaningful about it.

We work with CEOs, COOs, HR Directors, Heads of People and other senior decision-makers responsible for leadership teams, intact teams, project teams, growing teams or teams under pressure.

The common thread is simple: the people are capable, the potential is there, and something in the way they work together is holding them back.

  • How do you know what our team really needs?

We start by getting underneath the obvious problem.

Before we design anything, we spend time understanding what is happening now, what has already been tried, where people are getting stuck and what needs to change. Where possible, we also gather insight from the team itself.

That helps us distinguish the visible symptoms from the real issue underneath, then design the experience around the people, relationships, context and outcomes involved. Nothing is off-the-shelf.

  • We have tried team development before, how is this different?

A lot of team development creates a good day, some useful insight and then very little changes once everyone gets back to work.

We work differently. We start before the session itself, getting underneath the visible symptoms to understand what is really happening in the team. Then we design the experience around the actual people, relationships and challenges involved.

There is no standard agenda dropped onto your team. The aim is to create changes in how people communicate, challenge, decide and work together that still hold when real work takes over again.

  • What happens before and after the main session?

Before the session, we take time to understand what is really happening in the team: the context, history, dynamics, pressures, what has already been tried and what success needs to look like. Where useful, we gather insight from the team too, so the work is done with people rather than to them.

Afterwards, we help make sure the change does not disappear once everyone gets back to everyday work. That might include clear commitments, follow-up sessions, coaching, progress reviews or further work around specific areas the team needs to strengthen.

The exact shape depends on the team and the outcome you are trying to create.

  • How much does a Team Experience typically cost?

Team Experiences start at £4995.00. The exact cost depends on things like the size of the team, the complexity of the challenge, how much design is required, the length and format of the experience, and what follow-through will help the change stick.

We do not price the work like a standard workshop because we are not selling anything standard. You are investing in the thinking, preparation, design, facilitation and follow-through needed to create real change in how the team works together.
