About Lead Happy Teams

The people behind the work. The thinking behind better teams.

Great teams matter to the business – and the people in it.

We believe working well together should help a business move forward and make working life better for the people doing it. Clearer decisions, shared responsibility, honest conversations and room for good ideas matter to both.

We’re Anna Jester and Tom Threadgill. We bring together leadership and facilitation experience with creative experience design to help teams understand what’s getting in their way and work through it together.

Our focus is what happens back at work: how people lead, collaborate and put their thinking into practice when deadlines, competing priorities and everyday pressures return.

We know what it’s like to be the person everyone turns to.

Between us, we’ve led in global organisations and run agencies. We know the responsibility of making decisions, supporting people and keeping work moving while trying to give the future of the business some attention.

That experience shapes how we work with you. We’re interested in what your business needs to achieve, the pressures your people face and what makes working together easier or harder.

We bring curiosity, warmth and constructive challenge – including a willingness to explore how leadership itself may be shaping the patterns you want to change.

“Our team is learning to communicate more effectively, to feel comfortable having uncomfortable conversations and most importantly we understand ourselves and each other in a way that wouldn’t have been possible without Lead Happy Teams’ support. It’s absolutely worth the investment.”

GRACE EVANS – MANAGING DIRECTOR

SALVEO CARE

We’re curious before we’re certain.

You know your business. Your people know things about working in it that may never reach the leadership meeting. We make room for both perspectives before deciding what the team needs.

A missed handover, a delayed decision or a recurring disagreement can have several explanations. We listen, ask questions and test assumptions – including our own – to understand what’s happening and what it means for the work.

That matters especially when people have already tried to change things. Their experience gives us something to learn from, so the next step is grounded in understanding rather than another round of guesswork.

Understanding is the start. What people do next matters.

Our Lead Happy House™ helps teams explore how relationships, shared purpose and everyday habits influence the way they work. It gives people a way to discuss what’s happening and identify where change could make a difference.

We then design the experience around those insights and the people involved. That might mean working through a difficult conversation, questioning an established assumption or agreeing how decisions will be made and responsibilities shared.

The work continues beyond the session. Reflection, follow-through and opportunities to review progress help people put their commitments into practice – and adjust when everyday pressures test them.

Honest conversations take care.

People weigh up what might happen when they speak openly. Will a concern be taken seriously? Will disagreement damage a relationship? Is it worth questioning a decision that already seems to have been made?

We take those questions seriously. Preparation, clear expectations and thoughtful facilitation help people raise difficult issues, hear different perspectives and challenge each other constructively.

We earn trust through how we listen and respond. Nobody is expected to disclose something personal to prove they’re participating. The focus stays on understanding what matters to the work and finding a useful way forward together.

Let’s Talk

“The experience changed my perception of how away days can be run. It was clear they understood everything we had shared before the day. The personal touches made the day unique and memorable.”

How people work together matters to what the business can achieve.

A clear strategy gives people direction. Making it happen takes leaders and teams who can agree priorities, make decisions, challenge each other’s thinking and take responsibility together.

We pay attention to both: what the business needs to achieve and how people work together to deliver it. Strong relationships help people tackle difficult choices, resolve competing demands and keep work moving across departments.

That’s why our conversations about teams stay connected to real work. What needs deciding? Where does responsibility sit? What needs to happen between these people for the business to move forward?

Good ideas don’t all arrive at the same volume.

Different people need different ways in.

Some people think by talking. Others need time to reflect before they’re ready to contribute. Confidence, communication preferences and previous experiences all influence what someone feels able to say.

We design with those differences in mind, using preparation, pacing and different ways to participate. People have opportunities to contribute beyond being the first to speak or the quickest with an answer.

More perspectives. Better thinking.

Your business benefits when people can question an assumption, share an unexpected idea or raise a concern that others have missed. Making room for those contributions is part of helping the team make better decisions.

We consider different personalities, levels of confidence and neurotypes throughout the experience. Warmth, humour, structure and thoughtful facilitation help people engage—and give the team more of its collective knowledge to work with.

SAMANTHA NCUBE – CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

PEVEREL COURT CARE

  • Will you take time to understand our business?

Yes. We start with what your business needs to achieve, the pressures your people face and what you want to see happening differently.

You bring knowledge of the business; we bring questions, perspective and experience of working with teams. That combination helps us design work that is relevant to your circumstances and useful beyond the session.

  • How do you approach sensitive issues within a team?

Carefully, with preparation and clear expectations. We take time to understand the context before bringing people into conversations that may feel difficult.

Our role is to help people explore what’s happening without turning the experience into an exercise in blame. Warmth, structure and constructive challenge help people discuss the issues and take responsibility for what happens next.

  • What if some people are sceptical about team development?

They’re welcome to be. People may have experienced work that felt irrelevant, uncomfortable or disconnected from their actual responsibilities.

We take those reservations seriously. We explain the purpose, listen to concerns and give people different ways to contribute. Nobody needs to arrive enthusiastic. Our job is to earn their confidence through work that feels relevant and worthwhile.

  • How do you accommodate different personalities and neurotypes?

We ask about what helps people participate and consider those needs in the design. Preparation, pacing, reflection and different ways to contribute can all make a difference.

We avoid assuming that a personality label or diagnosis tells us everything about someone. Understanding the individuals involved helps us make thoughtful choices and discuss any specific adjustments needed.

  • Will you challenge us as leaders too?

Yes. How leaders make decisions, respond to disagreement and share responsibility influences how the whole team works.

We approach that with curiosity and respect for the pressures you face. We’ll help you explore your contribution alongside the team’s, including where making room for others to lead could help the business move forward.
